BOSTON FIGURATIVE
ART CENTER

BFAC needs new studio space

July 27, 2022 12:41 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Dear Artists,

Boston Figurative Art Center (BFAC) is an artist’s cooperative founded by artist and teacher Damon Lehrer in 2009 focusing on promoting figure drawing and painting.  BFAC offers a variety of sessions bringing artists of all levels together to enjoy creating artwork with live models. The center has been a part of the Vernon Street Studios community since its inception.

Unfortunately, due to the impending retirement of our founder, the center is at risk of losing its lease in October.  BFAC has every desire to keep serving our artist community, but its ability in continuing the figurative art sessions is dependent on having access to a studio space.  While we are pursuing a few leads, we would like to reach out to our community to see if there are other studio spaces we might consider.

Our studio requirements:

·  Roughly 500 - 1000 square feet, with electricity and a floor that can get dirty

·  Storage space for a model stand, furniture, and in-progress artwork

·  Enough ventilation for oil painting

·  Would consider both lease and sublease

Ideally, we'd find a permanent home, but temporary studio space to keep us going in the near term would be welcome too. Please reach out to us if you have any suggestions!

Thank you,

BFAC Management
